HOUSTON -- The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming and diving teams have continued to set new records on the third day of the WAC Championships.Â
Estela Davis Ortiz picked up the WAC title in the 400-yard IM with a D1 B cut time of 4:16.38.Â
Rebecca Håkansson and
Elisha Walker weren't far behind, placing third (4:22.01) and fourth (4:24.21), respectively. Davis Ortiz scored her second win of the night in the 100-yard backstroke with a new team record and D1 B cut time of 53.74.
Samiha Mohsen finished the event with a time of 55.62 which was good enough for third place.Â
Roaia Mashaly rounded out the points on the women's side with a personal best time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.02).
Wiktor Jaszczak also achieved a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle. His time of 1:38.96 placed him second in the B finals.
Daniil Antipov claimed the WAC title in the 200-yard butterfly (46.20), setting both a new WAC record and GCU team record.
Mark Nikolaev set his second WAC record of the competition, placing second overall in the 100-yard backstroke with a D1 A cut time of 45.11.Â
 After placing fourth in the preliminaries for the platform diving event,Â
Menna Elmidany scored points for the Lopes' dive team with a 186.85, finishing eighth overall.  Â
The Lopes will be back in the water for the fourth and final day of the WAC Championships on Saturday.Â
