Grand Canyon fell 85-63 to New Mexico State tonight at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.
The loss dropped the Lopes to 11-9 overall, 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Aggies improved to 11-10, 3-1.

GCU was led by
Joshua Braun and
DeWayne Russell who each scored 18. Braun added eight rebounds, one shy of his career high. Russell had five boards and four assists.
GCU pulled within one at 13-12 with 14 minutes remaining, but a 24-6 run by the Aggies put them up 37-18 with 3:30 left. The Lopes outscored the Aggies 9-4 the rest of the half and went into the break down 41-27.
GCU got as close as 12 at 45-33 less than two minutes into the second half, but saw the Aggies lead balloon back up to 20 and trailed by as many as 23 in the second half.
The Antelopes were outrebounded 42-27, their third-largest deficit of the season. That led the Aggies to a 38-20 points in the paint advantage.
Ryan Majerle chipped in eight points on 3-for-4 shooting,
Jerome Garrison had seven points.
