Grand Canyon University head men's basketball coach Dan Majerle has announced the addition of Luke DallaRiva to the staff as the Director of Basketball Operations. He takes the place of TJ Benson, who was promoted to an assistant coach following the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.
"Luke is an energetic, smart and highly driven individual," said Majerle. "He saw the vision of Grand Canyon and what we are striving to be and was excited about coming in on the ground floor of building a successful program. He will be a key member of our staff and his passion for basketball will match the culture we are defining in our program."
DallaRiva comes to GCU after previously serving as a Graduate Assistant for the men's basketball program at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. While with the Golden Flashes, he assisted with the day-to-day operations within the basketball program, including the preparation of opponent scouting reports, monitoring the team budget, and serving as the camp coordinator.
Prior to his time at Kent State, DallaRiva worked with the IMG Basketball Academy where he worked with both adult and youth basketball players.
His work background also includes time as the assistant varsity basketball coach at Saint Augustine High School in San Diego and serving as an instructor at the Dick Baumgartner Shooting Camp.
DallaRiva is a graduate of the University of San Diego with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Biology. He is also a candidate for a Master of Arts in Sports and Recreation Management at Kent State.
