GCU Wraps Up Cali Trip With Two More Wins

Grand Canyon improved to 5-2 in duals with a pair of wins in Irvine, Calif., Tuesday afternoon. GCU beat Irvine Valley College 4-1 and Golden West College 5-0.
The No. 1 pair of Mackenzie Phelps and Kelli Dallmann won twice on the day and are 7-2 on the season. No. 3 pair Chloe Jenkins and Kami Dickerson won both matches and improved to 6-3 overall. No. 4 group Kaitlynn Ausmus and Alex Goodman also swept contests.
Shannon Dugan and Megan Glennie, at No. 2, went 1-1. Brandy Grant and Britta Forsythe won versus Irvine Valley and Leigh Stonerook and Kaylee Dombroski were victorious against Golden West in the No. 5 spot.
"It was a great way to finish the trip," said GCU coach Kris Naber. "We're happy to go on the road and go 4-1. After a day off, the girls came back with great focus. They made great adjustments and took control of matches. It was a good week."
GCU returns to the sand with hits first home matches March 27-29 against Nebraska and Arizona. GCU has a dual with Nebraska at 4 p.m. on March 27 and with Arizona at 11 a.m. on March 28. The three teams will play a single-elimination pairs tournament March 28-29.
