Grand Canyon’s sand volleyball program has added two Arizona collegiate players during the spring signing period.
The Antelopes have signed former Northern Arizona and Cactus High indoor standout Kelli Dallman, from Peoria, Ariz., and South Mountain Community College 5-6 setter Brandy Grant, from Chandler, Ariz., who also played for the school’s indoor program.
Dallman, 5-feet-10, will have one year of eligibility remaining. She was one of the Lumberjacks most versatile players during her career playing both outside hitter and setter. She helped lead NAU to a 24-7 mark in 2012 and finished her career with 2,267 assists, 1,013 digs and 669 kills.
“She was a dynamic part of NAU’s success the last four years,” said GCU coach Kris Naber. “We’re very fortunate to get her for a season of sand.”
Grant, who also played for Aspire Volleyball Club out of Tempe, was a setter at SMCC, in 13 matches she averaged 7.23 assists and 2.46 digs.
“Grant will be a great addition to our sand program with her athleticism and knowledge of the game,” said Naber. “She is the kind of athlete that will make our program better.”
The 2014 season will be GCU’s second in Collegiate Sand Volleyball.
