No. 18 Grand Canyon was swept in a Pacific West Conference doubleheader against Azusa Pacific at Cougar Softball Complex in Azusa, Calif., Friday.
It was the first two games of a four-game series. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon. Fans can follow the action with live stats and live video links available at

The Antelopes (36-14, 19-7) left 15 runners on base and lost 2-1 in 11 innings in game one and fell 7-2 in game two.
In the opener,
Stephanie Pesqueira (18-8) gave up just five hits in 11 innings, while the Antelopes were able to muster just one run on 10 hits and failed to take advantage of three APU errors. GCU’s lone run came in the fifth.
Stephanie Smith led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Haley Walker. She scored on a single from
Kelsey Barak.
"Pesky did what we ask her to do, but we just weren't able to give her enough run support," said GCU coach Ann Pierson. "She threw well."
GCU left the bases loaded in the seventh and ninth innings.
In game two, GCU got out to a 2-0 lead, but gave up two runs in the third and five in the fourth. The Antelopes left eight runners on base.
Nicole Upshaw started off the two-run inning with a triple.
Kiki Sepulveda suffered the loss and dropped to 12-3 on the season.
"We struggled in the second game," said Pierson. "Hats off to their pitching staff. They did a good job with our offense today. We'll have to do a better job Saturday."
GCU fell to third in the PacWest, two games behind first-place Dixie State (22-6 in PWC) and one game behind Hawai’i Hilo (21-7).
