Grand Canyon University senior guard/forward Judy Jones was named the ColllegeSportsMadness.com High-Major WAC Player of the Week for Dec. 1.
In four games, Jones averaged 18.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game as the Antelopes went 2-2 on the week. In a 62-60 loss to UCLA, Jones had a double-double with game-highs in points (22) and rebounds (11). She had 20 points and eight boards in an overtime win at North Texas. Jones recorded two double-doubles for the week. She added 18 points and grabbed 11 caroms in a 71-62 loss to Mississippi State.
Jones was named to the CollegeSportMadness.com preseason All-WAC team.
For the season, she leads the Antelopes in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (8.9) and also averages 2.1 steals per game.
GCU is 6-2 on the season and travels to Nevada Dec. 10.
