Grand Canyon sophomore third baseman
Stephanie Smith was selected to the PacWest Softball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll for games played Feb. 27-Mar. 4.
Smith, in a three-game series at San Francisco State, hit .556 (5-for-9) with three runs scored, one double and two RBI. She posted a .667 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base average. She also walked twice and stole a base.
GCU won the series 2-1. The Antelopes are idle this weekend. They begin a stretch of 10 PacWest games in eight days with a five doubleheaders at Stapleton-Pierson Field beginning March 20 against Hawai’i Hilo. The Antelopes and Vulcans play a four-game set March 20-21. Chaminade comes in for a doubleheader March 24 and Hawai’i Pacific is in town March 26-27.
GCU (12-8, 3-1) is currently third in the PacWest, trailing first-place Hilo (12-1, 7-0) by two and one-half games and second place Hawai’i Pacific (13-5, 7-1) by two games.
