Grand Canyon University received the inaugural Pacific West Conference Make-A-Wish Award for funds raised during the 2010-11 academic year. The GCU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) raised over $6,500 and hosted the second annual Make-A-Wish night where families with children sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation could be honored during a men's and women's basketball game in February. The award was announced during the PacWest meetings June 6-8 in Honolulu, HI.

"All the student-athletes worked so hard to raise the money. Make-A-Wish is such a big part of what we do on SAAC and it is such an honor to win this award," said PacWest and GCU SAAC liaison, Blake Schilly.
