PHOENIX -- Grand Canyon University is ranked No. 22 in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 poll of the 2010 season.
The poll was released today.
The Antelopes finished the season with a 42-13 overall record, 23-9 in the Pacific West Conference. They were selected for the NCAA Division II Softball Championships for the first time in the program's seven-year history.
The 42 wins are a school record.
Fellow PacWest member Hawai'i Pacific (50-8), which captured its first-ever national championship on Monday, received all 16 first-place votes in the NFCA poll. Only two other schools from the West region, No. 17 Cal State Chico (33-21) and No. 20 Sonoma State (43-18), are included in the poll.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
