Grand Canyon University lost to Fort Lewis College, 92-52, tonight in in its second game of the George B. Boedecker Foundation Classic on the Fort Lewis campus in Durango, Colo.
The Antelopes (1-5) never led, and were behind 50-19 at halftime. They shot 35 percent for the game, including 25 percent from behind the three-point arc, and only 36 percent on free throws.
In addition, they were outrebounded, 42-31, and had 20 turnovers.
The Skyhawks (2-0) had four players in double figures, led by 18 points each by junior guard DeAndre Landsdowne, the preseason Rocky Mountain Conference Player of the Year, and sophomore forward Matt Morris. They shot 69 percent in the first half and 57 percent for the game, and made 7-of-15 three-pointers and 25-of-32 free throws.
Freshman guard Brad Carroll (pictured, Chandler, AZ/University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) led GCU with 10 points and seven rebounds.
The 'Lopes play their regular-season home opener against Cal Baptist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Antelope Gymnasium.
