READING, Penn. -- Grand Canyon women's bowling team produced its best day of its short-lived program history Saturday. Ailport rolls 232The Antelopes went 4-2 at the Kutztown Invitational at Bowl-A-Rama, and finds itself in 14th place at the 24-team invitational that features some of the nation's top teams.
GCU beat St. Paul's, 898-659, and Howard, 759-716, before losing to Norfolk State, 894-768, in a team match Antelopes coach Ron Reddic attributed to a lack of sparing.
The Lopes fell to heavily-regarded New Jersey City, 960-824, before closing with wins over Hampton, 836-801, and St. Peter's, 806-801.
Grand Canyon's Amanda Ailport (pictured) had a high game of 232, which is a team-best. It eclipsed her personal best 214 set a week ago. She is the first Lady Lopes bowler to crack the 225 plateau.
