Junior first baseman Randi Johns (Waddell, Ariz./Goodyear Millennium HS) was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.
Johns hit four home runs in four games last week at Western New Mexico. She batted .538 (7 for 13) with a double and seven RBI, and scored seven runs. She had a 1.538 slugging percentage and .563 on-base percentage.
Johns is hitting .375 with nine home runs, which tied her school single-season record, eight doubles and 34 RBI. She is the school's career home run leader with 22.
Junior center fielder Tana Holtorf (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain HS) and junior second baseman Yasmeen Watkins (Phoenix/ Sunnyslope HS) were named to the Top 10 honor roll.
GCU (20-19-1, 10-6 PacWest) plays at Notre Dame de Namur (19-26, 8-12) in a pair of doubleheaders Friday and Saturday, and finishes its weekend trip to the Bay Area with a twin bill at Cal State Monterey Bay.
