The GCUÂ men's indoor track and field squad claimed the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championship, one of two national championships the school claimed at the NCAA Division II level.

GCU head coach Tom Flood led the Lopes to the national title in just its second year of existence.
Overall, the Lopes won All-American honors in 18 events (top-eight finishers in each event, except top-four in relay events):Â

The team was inducted to GCU's Alumni Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony on Feb. 22, 2025, on the GCU campus.
