Bruns Named Preseason All-MIVA

Grand Canyon University junior libero Trent Bruns was named to the 2012 MIVA Preseason All-Conference team.
Bruns was a first team All-MIVA choice last season and a second-team selection as a freshman. In 2011, he led the conference and was fifth in the nation in digs per set (2.5). He had 297 total digs and had a season-high 21 against NYU on March 1. He had 10 or more digs in 15 matches.
GCU was picked seventh in the preseason team rankings.
Grand Canyon begins its fourth season of men’s volleyball, and second under head coach Jeremy Price, Saturday at the University of Pacific.
The GCU home schedule opens Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. against NJIT at GCU Arena.
