Pikai Winchester was named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the conference announced on Monday morning. Serving in his role as designated hitter, Winchester went 10-for-17 in a perfect 4-0 week for the Lopes -- a week that included the winning of a second straight WAC title.
Including a 9-for-13 clip in the weekend series at Seattle U, Winchester hit 10-for-17 on the four-game week. He scored nine runs and had five RBIs.
Winchester and the Lopes got the week started in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He picked up one hit, but accounted for four of GCU's 11 runs with a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBIs.
In the final series of the regular season at Seattle U, Winchester was a perfect 4-for-4 and was a part of all five of GCU's runs, scoring three times and driving in the other two.
The hot week continued for Winchester with a three-hit game on Friday and a two-hit game on Saturday.

Quin Cotton atop the lineup, GCU scored in the first inning in four straight games.
Winchester finished conference play ranking fourth in batting average (.396), fifth in runs scored (25) and fifth in RBIs (23) as a part of GCU's league-leading offense.
The Lopes are set to begin participation in the WAC Tournament on Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. Based on results from Wednesday's first round of games, GCU will play the lowest advancing seed.
