PHOENIX -- The Grand Canyon women's basketball team and head coach
Trent May welcome three newcomers Josie Fisher, Irene Perez and Talia Roldan to the squad as a part of the National Letter of Intent Signing period. May adds a pair of transfers and one freshman to the program.Â
 "We are excited to have Talia, Josie & Irene join the Lopes family. They each bring qualities such as toughness, winning and unselfish play and are looking to help raise the bar to even more success in this program," May said. "Getting the right people that are also talented is key to our success. I am thankful that these three have chosen GCU to continue their success as well."
Irene Perez (G,Granada, Spain)Â
Irene Perez transfers to GCU from Western Wyoming Community College. Perez hails from Granada, Spain and will be an asset to GCU on the court. During her time at WWCC, she started all 27 games last season and averaged 14.9 points per game with 4.6 rebounds per game and a 48.4 field goal percentage. She averaged 24.6 minutes a game for the Mustangs and helped lead the team to a winning mark in the 2015-16 season with a 15-13 record.

Talia Roldan (F,Griffith, Ind.)
Talia Roldan will join the Lopes for her freshman season. Roldan recently returned from playing for the U18 Puerto Rican junior national team where she averaged 5.8 points per contest, with 5.5 rebounds per game through five international games. Last season at Griffth High School, Roldan played in 26 contests averaging 12.2 points per game, 7.2 boards per game and 2.2 blocks per game.

Josie Fisher (G, Fort Wayne, Ind.)Â
Josie Fisher comes to the Lopes after spending a year at Fort Wayne University. In one season with the Mastodons, Fisher saw action in 28 games, averaging 10.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 20.9 minutes per game. Fisher also had a successful high school career. She was named to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) All-State team as a senior and helped lead her team to a state finals appearance in 2015 achieving a second place finish.
